Awareness of Fibromyalgia in the UK is very low, with a public profile well below that of far rarer conditions and even most doctors not knowing how to accurately diagnose & appropriately treat the condition.
There are a few projects either running or in the pipeline that aim to help raise awareness of Fibromyalgia in the UK. The PolkaDotGals Charity calendar campaign was started in 2007 and has already generated some media attention for Fibromyalgia. And a fundraising ball and auction is being organised to tie-in with International Fibromyalgia Awareness Day.
