For a start, check the European Guidelines of the Management of FM (available in the sidebar on the left).

    hi.
my big brother suffers terribly with fm.
he has had no medical intervention and is just seeing his life slipping away from him. no social life,no partner just a daily dose of pain and discomfort.
he has lost hope as his useless doctor thinks he is faking! he has lost so much weight and you can see the pain on his face its so bad. is there anything anyone can suggest that may help. he is becoming more and more withdrawn from the world and has lost all hope.

Hi! I am also taking Lyrica. Hoever, for me, it stops doing it’s job after a few months, if I increase the dosage I am a painfully walking Zombie ?! I Hope this is not the case for all. I will be asking for THC at my next appointment as I have tried everything they will give me wich is not a hell of a lot.
They ( the pain clinic ) are so scared you should get hooked on something; they’d rather you suffer or get your head checked as we all know we are faking it ;-)

Keep up your spirits and lets make the world know that we want the pain to go away period.

I don’t know if you are aware of the breakthroughs in our understanding of fibromyalgia as a neurological condition, but I’m convinced that transneural degeneration of central areas of the brain cause dysautonomia. Many functional neurologists are treating this brain problem with exercise and oxygen therapy, and including treatment to “rewire” dysfunctional areas of the brain, to try and regulate the autonomic nervous system. It is one of the most important breakthroughs in treating chronic pain conditions like fibromaylgia in recent history.
